  • To meet needs arising from reduced physical and mental functional capacity or special problems
  • To promote the individual's ability to manage on their own - To ease daily life and improve quality of life
  • The help is based on the individual's responsibility for themselves and their family
  • The help is organized based on the individual person's needs and conditions and in cooperation with the individual

Assessment

Can be divided into a legal and a professional assessment:

1) The legal basis for the municipal case processing is Section 112 of the Social Services Act and Sections 10, 11, and 12 of the Legal Security Act.

2) The professional assessment takes place as a collaboration between the citizen, the municipality's nurses responsible for continence, the citizen's own doctor, and possibly specialists or hospital departments.

Contact

… can happen in several ways:

1) The citizen contacts the municipality themselves with a request for help with their incontinence problem.

2) Specialist doctor sends a statement after completed examination/treatment with a view to granting.

3) Care staff observe/report an incontinence problem.
